Kanyatte S Mwangi

Chief Technology Officer

Kanyatte Mwangi is a co-founder of Flowmatics Limited and the Chief Technology Officer – responsible for the technical success of all the Company’s and by extension, our clients’ solutions – from design to commissioning. However, he is more than that. … Kanyatte is an avid solution provider – astute and persistent in identifying practical and implementable solutions to challenges – whether large or those seemingly insignificant ones.

Described as motivated, passionate, simple but also hard-charging and dynamic, Kanyatte has infused into the Company with his own brand of energetic leadership, vision and spirit over the years.

Kanyatte and his co-founder are focused on continuing Flowmatics’ innovation and leadership across the company’s core business – smart metering, telemetry, renewable energy and value-add mobile solutions.

Born in 1967, Kanyatte graduated from the University of Nairobi with a bachelor’s degree in BSc Electrical and Electronics Engineering, in 1990. While in school, Kanyatte was an avid football player and still maintains a high interest in football and recently golf and formula1 racing

Kanyatte has worked in the Information Communication Technology (ICT) industry and the provision of ICT solutions since 1994 both as a service provider and at managerial level with various institutions – four (4) of these years with national and international banks. The sixteen years’ experience has provided Kanyatte with adequate experience and exposure which are both broad based – bringing in a depth of knowledge and skill, from other sectors, and with adequate depth in the operations and technological requirements in the financial and e-commerce sectors.

Moses Mwangi

Software Engineer

Moses is an Associate to and works with Flowmatics to develop customized software systems based on the needs of a client. In line with the values of Flowmatics, Moses is focused on continuous innovation, leadership and in ensuring that technology continues to serve the needs of business in an ever improving structure.

Moses started working with electronics and IT while in school undertaking his degree in electrical and electronics engineering at the University of Nairobi, where he majored in electronics and telecommunications. His passion has not only grown since then, but has worked to successfully serve a variety of sectors and clients in the region today including twelve (12) of the leading commercial banks. Some of these banks include Co-operative Bank, National Bank of Kenya, Kenya Commercial Bank, Consolidated Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, CFC Stanbic Bank, Development Bank, Commercial Bank of Africa, Transnational Bank, Nile Bank (Uganda), SCB (Tanzania), among others.

He has also designed and successfully deployed:

  • a flight operations system (FOS) for aircraft monitoring and billing system for ICAO Somalia project;
  • telephone management software applications for commercial purposes;
  • various customized software solutions – such as clinic management, dry cleaning management software, cyber-café systems, bank sub-systems, school and college management software
  • weighbridge and milk-weighing systems for KPCU, New KCC and other dairy processing plants

Part of the work includes interfacing the new products with the existing systems, sub-systems and core/productions systems (ERP).

After university, he worked for four years for ICL Kenya Limited as a software developer and later at Omnitech Systems Ltd and Protocol Communications Ltd for six years as the director responsible for the development of software applications for telephones, flight operations system and various customized software solutions.

Moses has now grown to be one of the leading software developer and solutions provider in Kenya and is a Director of Software Universe Limited, one of Kenya’s leading mobile banking provider.

Born in 1967, Moses grew up in Central Kenya and graduated from the University of Nairobi with a bachelor’s degree in science specializing in electrical and electronics engineering. As while in school, he still enjoys art and painting, gravity research and hobbies in electronics.

John M Mithamo

Field Technical Supervisor

John Mithamo started working for Flowmatics in 2012 when we needed a meticulous and hands-on Engineer to look after our installations in the various spirit production locations. Mithamo is a mechanical engineer with more than 30 years of experience working on mechanical aspects of the former Kenya Railways. Mithamo worked in various capacities at the Kenya Railways among them Workshop Manager, Supplies Manager, Operations and Maintenance Manager, Makadara Depot Manager, with his last position as Technical Manager where he was supervising over 2,500 employees. One of his most notable achievements was his tenure as the depot manager when he managed to increase the daily traffic of good trains from Nairobi to Mombasa to twelve.

He is an astute trouble shooter, very hands on and pays attention to the minute details to ensure that an installation is undertaken accurately, neatly, and with limited repetitions and delays associated with installation.

Mithamo is a graduate from the University of Nairobi with a BSC in Mechanical Engineering.

Sheila Ogola

Administrative Assistant

Sheila Ogola is an experienced administrator with hands on experience and knowledge in marketing.

She has a good grasp of administrative skills, including desk research, report writing, documentation and logistical coordination. She prides herself on taking the initiative in different aspects of her work. Sheila has excellent written and oral communication skills, is able to resolve issues astutely and maintains high level of confidentiality. She is a team player with excellent interpersonal and organization skills.

In addition, Sheila’s key skills include a strong understanding and practice of superior telephone skills, customer service, office support, administration, and undertakes basic accounting.
